Doing It the Company Way: Employer Perspectives on Workplace Supports

ignificant advances in the identification and pplication of accommodations and supports have nabled people with various disabilities to succeed n the workplace. Such advances include an array of echnologies and methodologies, including, but not imited to, assistive devices, alternative and ugmentative communication strategies, rchitectural modifications, telecommuting, retructured job assignments, mentors and coaches, lexed time and other scheduling accommodations, nd employee assistance and other employer human esource management programs. These advances, long with legal protections from discrimination vailable through the Americans with Disabilities ct (ADA), have created an environment in which ob seekers with disabilities can better promote their ob qualifications and advocate for necessary ccommodations.
